"The beautiful thing about the gong bath is that it makes meditation accessible to all.
Through the gong's vibrational frequencies, people can access an exquisite stillness and healing by activating the subconscious mind in different brainwave states and promoting deep relaxation."

A gong bath, gong immersion or gong meditation is a deeply relaxing meditative event.
It often begins with a talk about the occasion, the types of gongs being used, followed by a few simple yoga stretches, conscious breath-work, intention setting and a guided meditation to prepare.
You then lie down for about 45 minutes whilst your gong practitioner begins a gentle soothing rhythm, building up to a mix of crescendos, overtones, peaks and troughs with a selection of different mallets that make a huge variety of soothing sounds and vibrations.
These vibrations take you into a meditative state, deep into the subconscious where you are able to release blockages and let go of the outside world.
The event concludes seated often with chanting 'om' to seal the practice and a little grounding to bring you back to your physical body.
You are left feeling placid and relaxed, almost lighter. Any intention setting will be deeply embedded within and will have started putting your brain into action.
Benefits of gong baths:
Strange dreams are very common, especially after your first gong experience. It's always a good idea to just play the observer and not analyse too much, as this is a sign that things are working their way out of your system.
Some people find it hard to 'let go', which gets easier with time once you know what to expect. If you ever have any questions, your gong practitioner will be happy to chat with you. They can even arrange a 1:1 gong bath if you would feel more able to 'let go'.
Alcohol is not recommended and food should be avoided at least 2 hours before.
